Questions and misunderstandings abound concerning what is and what is not hypnosis. Let me try to answer a few of the more common questions I hear.

First, when a person is in a hypnotic trance they are not asleep, in fact they actually have heightened awareness. The purpose of hypnosis is not to put you to sleep but to open your subconscious mind to suggestions it would not otherwise be able to accept. In most cases during a hypnotic session you are awake and alert but very relaxed and free of the daily stresses that cause problems and strain.

Hypnotherapy has a very high success rate, is fast(usually one or two sessions) and inexpensive.

Hypnosis should be your first choice in therapy!
